Binance in Africa

On 6th July, Binance’s CEO tweeted that he recently held meetings with the presidents of Senegal and Ivory Coast. His meetings are part of his initiative to accelerate cryptocurrency adoption in Africa and beyond. In Senegal, he also met with the central bank CEO and Binance enthusiasts in the country. This comes a few weeks after Binance appointed Khaby Lame as their official brand ambassador. 

The Senegalese Italian-bound celebrity is now the most followed Tiktoker in the world. He has a massive 245+ million followers on the social media platform. CZ believes there is a huge potential for crypto success in Africa. He stated that there is a large number of Africans who are financially unincluded, and this is the time for them. He tweeted, “Africa is prime for crypto adoption. 10-20% banked. Need financial access and inclusion. Blockchain provides that with a smartphone.” Africa has the highest rate of crypto adoption in the world. This seems like the right step for Binance to take. 

Binance in African football

Binance, in partnership with the confederation of African football, announced sponsoring the Total energy Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The largest international men’s football championship in Africa. These will be the financial constraints that many African teams face solved. It will also promote the growth of Binance over the youth and its name spread in Africa. Keep in mind that football is the most popular game across the continent. Binance has collaborated with the confederation of African Football (CAF). The crypto exchange and CAF partnership will see the provision of financial services to Africans. 

Binance and the entertainment industry

The African entertainment industry is massive. Almost every country has a huge fan base for comedy, reality shows, etc. The crypto company has used this to its advantage, and its now sponsoring famous events such as: 

  • Nigerian idol season 7
  • The Kenyan Churchill show
  • Roadshows across the country with free info and entertainment.

Moreover, Binance in Africa has enabled Africans to be self-reliant and employers of labour. It has provided career and income opportunities to many. It has also provided free crypto classes to Africans, and some can now build a blockchain career. To conclude, CZ has his eye on Africa, and this is the best opportunity for Africa to lead in the current financial revolution.
